This is the fourth largest douglas fir I know of on Salt Spring. It is located in Mt. Maxwell Provincial Park. Canada's largest known douglas fir grows on the southern slope of the San Juan River Valley east of Port Renfrew. In 1985, its circumference was measured at 41 feet, 2 inches.
